Course fee: £95
On this one day course you will explore working with willow for garden purposes. We will be working with green willow and will consider the following projects:
- small scale living willow structures (arbours, fedges and domes)
- platted potted willow trees (often called harlequin trees)
- obelisk style garden supports and climbers
you will have the opportunity to make projects to take home with you and to participate in some group work outside building collective structures which will then give you the knowledge to go home and plant your own and subsequent aftercare/pruning and feeding. There may be an opportunity to purchase willow to take home to complete a project dependant upon coppicing here at ecclesall woods.
You will need to wear suitable clothing and footwear for working outdoors in this season. Steel toe cap boots would be advantageous if you have them. Participants must be fit and agile enough to stand and work outside in the woods all day at this time of year.

Please let us know if you have any specific requirements or needs. All materials and tool use are provided for you on the day. Refreshments and biscuits throughout the course. Please bring a packed lunch, notebook and pen and wear suitable clothes for working outdoors.
Refundable up to two weeks prior to course (minus £30 admin fee). No refunds for cancellations within two weeks of course. All adult courses are for 16 years or over.
